I have been reading all the reviews from every show, and now I am finally posting one myself! I have managed to make it to 2 shows: Dallas and DC- I wish I could go to more, but being from Mississippi makes it harder when you have to fly to get to any of them. I don't know if it was being in the heart this time vs gold circle last time, or if the band had more charisma up here, but this show will stay with me for a long time. We got to the line about 10am and were 197 and 198 in line- yeah in the heart! We got next to the inner rail on Edge's side, and the first thing I remember saying is "Wow this is close". The tip of the heart would be great too, but those spots were taken immediately, and probably a lot more pushy. (We had lots of room!) However, I would love to have Bono in my face, we did not even get a hand slap.
Anyway- The emotion in Bono's voice was so much more than I imagined- you could see him pushing the words and he sounded soulful and incredible. The band was perfect to me- I love the few kinks here and there just to remind me that these guys are actually human. Bono talked so much about politics, religion, the DC crowd, that I felt a connection that I did not quite feel in Dallas-which was a great show too. This one was just different. I think movingthe band to the tip for Desire was an awesome move, and the crowd went along with it great. I loved the remark about "Stay" being a beautiful song... "Fly" has never been one of my favorites until now- I get it now-and the antics are also very cool. The moment when Bono pushed the girl's camera out of the way for a "smack" made every female in the place green with envy - very sexy- I don't know what to think about the boy on stage during "Bullet" it seemed that he did not know the words "Into the arms of America.." Why would you be so anxious to jump the baricade then not even know the words?? Pride, One, really got things heated up and connected. The show was much longer and again I love all of the talking and band interactions. I will never forget the feeling I had as Bono was standing 2 feet away saying the part about "a man breathes into a saxaphone.." During Bullet. Nor will I forget the energy of the DC crowd-awesome- if they come back in the fall- I might take another flight to DC...
