WOW! I was completely blown away by what took place in Pittsburgh on 5/6/01. I was fortunate enough to be standing at the crest of the walkway where Bono hung out most of the night. I watched (and listened!) as he gave a friendship ring to a young lady to my right and spoke to her about the importance of friends and friendships. Then he grabbed a cell phone from a gentleman to my left and sang directly into it! Imagine being the guy on the other end! Next, I watched in amazment as he leaned down and grabbed the girl right in front of me and brought her onto the walkway with him! SENSORY OVERLOAD!
The music was heart wrenching and beautiful. Each note meant something to someone. Bono spoke with a unmatched passion about love, freedom and serenity. It seemed to me like he was saying..."Life is really good! Look.. listen and I'll show you what I mean!"
This experience will be etched into my mind forever.
Thanks!
