This show was absolutely breathtaking. I've been a huge fan for a few years now, but this was my first U2 concert. In fact, it was my first concert PERIOD. I intentionally stayed away from this site so that I'd be surprised, and I'm glad I did.
I was about six rows of people away from the tip of the ellipse (on the outside, unfortunately) and was easily within fifteen feet of Bono when he came out for COBL. What a rush! Everything I could have possibly wanted was in this show: I Will Follow, I Still Haven't Found, The Electric Co., it was unbelievable!
A few notes:
1. Larry sang along to "A mole..." in Elevation. Does he always do this? I couldn't hear him and I don't even know if he's mic'd.
2. Bono added a few lines of In a Little While to I Still Haven't Found.
3. One included the "You hear us comin' Lord" coda. (YES!!!)
4. Stuck in a Moment was acoustic until (I think) the part where Edge sings alone. Also, Bono forgets the lyrics, stops the song, and has a little conference with Edge, then sings the part he messed up again, correctly. Priceless!
5. Bono signs an autograph for a fan and makes Edge sign it, too. Bono says that he'd never thought of signing autographs DURING the show. I don't remember when this happened, but it was hilarious.
6. On a personal note, my name was on the screen for texting the One campaign. :)
In short, I could not have asked for a better first concert. The only downside was that cab fare cost more than my ticket.
