This was my seventh show this year, including three shows in MSG. Anyone who missed this one missed a real gem. This band just keep getting better and better. I preface my review by acknowledging my diminsihed expectations: This was a one show run; Bono was rumored to be sick; the band didn't show up until after 6:00 P.M.
I was NOT DISAPPOINTED. The encore had a good mix; Bono's voice was spot-on perfect; the band connected with the audience; Bono signed an autograph for a fan aty the tip of the ellipse (acting perplexed, he said, "I've never been asked to sign an autograph at a rock concert before!?!" He did it any way, even passing the paper to The Edge to sign also).
He brought up a fan for an awesome version of Party Girl. I could go on, but I won't. I cannot imagine anyone's review being negative. This was a perfect show in almost every way imiginable.
Hope you enjoy my photos, taken from the rail of the ellipse.
