My first of many U2 shows. Such an awesome opening to Streets and Bono's humble yet dramatic entrance. I was 2nd row center floor, bought from a scalper for $110 (plus I had to give up my two nosebleed tix--but hey, I impressed the hell out of the girl I was with).
I'll never forget Troy (see previous post) running on stage and Bono recoiling, saying, "Don't touch my f$%#ing arm, Mister." Then, ever the gentlemen, he said, "Excuse the language ladies, it's been a rough night." Yes, he struggled with his voice and yes it seemed a short set. But, in hindsight, it was worth every penny, and I'd pay a couple of grand now to relive it!
