Just returned to Denver from the concert last night in Vegas. It was my 3rd and final Vertigo show. I was sad knowing I'm going to have to wait to see Bono and the boys again. After being at San Jose 1 and Minneapolis I would say this was the best! The band sounded great and the crowd, at least in my area was really into the show, more on that later.
When I heard the opening of UTEOTW I went crazy. This is one of my favorites, to hear it was a treat. Then, the encore with Zoo Station, The Fly, In A Little While, and Bad! I was in heaven. The only thing that would have made me happier was if they played Kite. But, I do wish they would play something other than Bullet, this song needs to be replaced.
Having Mary J. Blige and Brandon Flowers join the band were also welcome surprises.
I wonder if anyone from Vegas saw the show? All of the people around us were from somewhere else, maybe that explains why at the end of the main set and the first encore I watched people poor out of the arena. I can't figure out why you would leave early, unless you're not a real fan, but someone who wanted to say you saw U2.
I had read other reviews about Damian Marley and the flag waver. I chuckled when I saw this guy come out on stage. How do I get that job?
