Well, if there were other words that conveyed the same emotion and overall gobsmackedness as amazing, unbelievable, phemonemal and WOW, I'd use them, but I think they've all been used. I consider myself a hardcore fan (although meeting up with some of the other GA folks -- aka "line dwellers", now I'm not sure if I can still claim hardcore status), and I have never experienced anything like this show. This was my 11th show overall -- the 4th of the Vertigo Tour. I just don't have the words, but I'm pretty sure I witnessed (along w/16,000 other amazingly fortunate individuals) U2's performance of a lifetime. Everything was over the top tonight. I had a plumb spot on the rail outside the ellipse, but there was more to it than that. You could tell by the look on Bono's face close up that he was completely blown away, particularly after Streets. Every song was just totally on -- and the incredible spirit of the show just blew the roof off MGM. Mary J. Blige and Brandon Flowers were a great added bonus -- they both did an amazing job, and it seemed they were feeding off the energy as well. The setlist was awesome -- although we had some idea what we were in for based on the sound check we caught of Mysterious Ways and UTEOTW.
Thanks to all the great fans we met in line and hung out with @ McMullen's afterwards. Thanks to my friend Nicole for putting up with the hysteria for many many months -- she is now a true believer. And, thanks most of all to Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry for giving me an even greater life....
Now, my only question is how does get on stage as a "first time" bellydancer with Bono? This Alli person did a cute job, but maybe it's time for Bono to take a leap of faith with someone new...
Off to Miami this week, and then finishing up my Vertigomania in my hometown of SLC on Dec 17. Anyway, this show was just absolutely AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, INSPIRATIONAL, MIND-BLOWING....and any other word you can pull up in your thesarus. Hope you all enjoyed. I'm trying to post a few photos...
