Okay: How awesome was THIS show??? This was my 9th of the tour and I was blown away. I read another reviewer's post about how many times he said, "Wow," during the show. I second that claim. This was, hands down, the best show I have seen in my life. I spoke with many others who agree--including those who have seen 20 or 30 shows.
In fairness, I had the benefit of scanning into the ellipse 2 nights in a row and ending up on the front rail. I was also with Alli both nights (she claims I am the ellipse good luck charm--I think it's the other way around) and was the guy who helped lift her up on stage for her MW dance. Ditto for Miro, whom Adam walked over and handed a guitar pick to. And there was also Mandy, whose hand Bono grabbed during Beautiful Day (that might have been night 1). So, having been a part of connecting with the Band, in addition to the special guests (Brandon from Killers and Mary J. Blige), I cannot think of a better show.
But, that aside, the Band played MW and UTEOTW early in the set and In a Little While (full band), which made this a unique night to remember.
On a side note, I want to give a humble (and a little sheepish & embarassed) thank you to Kathy, wherever you are. Kathy had what she thought was a counterfeit GA ticket and I told her I thought it was real (although slightly unsure), but agreed to trade her my ETS GA (definitely NOT counterfeit) for her ticket if it would ease her anxiety. She accepted and it was the ticket she traded to me (turned out to not be counterfeit) that scanned me in (as well as Miro, Alli, Mandy). I DO wish Kathy had gotten the Ellipse experience, but we all thank her for giving us ours.
Also, it was such a cool bunch of people in the GA line. Thansk to all for making this an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Credit to Miroslava (next to me, right side) and John (right behinid me) for the pictures!
