Here's my view of a great gig. Managed to get red zone 1 (edges side) tickets only 3 days before the show on ticketmaster. Well worth paying the extra for red zone if you get the chance. We walked in at 7pm and got right on the rail to edges side (in the area where the bridges stop). First time 'at the front' (sort of) in 22 years!! All the band came past us at least once. Plus from red zone you can still see bono/larry/edge in their usual positions. Adam was out of sight in his usual position as the stage is very high.
At sheffield red zoners could also access the inner circle. Walked in here to have a look but the view was better from the red zone. Must agree with previous reviewers who said that the best place to view is either side of the outer circle.
Also as the intro music played i went to the barrier at the rear steps to see them walk in (really close up here - fantastic!!). We also did this at the end to see them out as they walk down to the steps on the way to the cars.
Was also at glasgow but in the seats. Good view of the claw but poor atmosphere compared to red zone experience.
Go for the red zone or queue early for the inner circle is the best advice for a great experience.
