WOW, I've seen a number of U2 tours and as I say everytime ... that was the best concert yet! Last night was no exception.

we arrived just after the gates opened and we were standing about 30 feet from the walkways and had a great view of the claw, the stage and the giant screen overhead. An idal spot to soak up the overall atmosphere.

The Hours were ok, the lead singer was very likable. But then Glasvegas who, in my opinion were very poor. The drummer was clearly a member of the crowd dragged from her burger and drafted into the band at the last minute coz the actual drummer was sent home for forgetting half of his kit! And what a potty mouth the lead singer/ songs had - no wonder you never hear them on daytime radio. But then came the main event...

Major Tom started and you new the band were coming, the claw breathed smoke and came to life as dusk settled. And then bang, 4 songs straight off the new albumn with perfect delivery these songs come to life when played live!

I had tears in my eyes when Bono dedicated MLK to a friend of the bands. It was very moving. Didn't think I would but I actually loved the remix version of crazy tonight!

Some fantastic songs that are great to hear live again, Unforgettable Fire, Ultra Violet, Stay to name just three. I think they are sterling replacements for some of their well worn classics Bullet and The Fly. If I could have written the set-list before the gig I would have written exactly what they played!

Nice touches from the Edge as the cameras focussed on a Welsh snow shaker between songs and also he had a Welsh T-shirt on beneath his shirt which he revealed at the end of the show!

Thanks U2, see you next time! And thanks to Mick and Chris for making it a special night.
