Me the wife and 10year old daughter did the 1st Manchester gig which was special to me been her first time in a big crowed and seeing her first live band!!! (WoW U2.) You should have seen that face when vertigo kicked in, etched on my memory forever. We then listened to the Twickenham show live on radio 2 while having a BBQ and that did it. I had to go to Cardiff and see U2 in the millennium stadium. Four tickets off e-bay, booked 2 days off work, a 489 mile round trip, me 2 brothers and my nephew went for it, all praying the roof would be shut. What an awesome stadium, breath taking and the roof was shut. We were ready for something special. We took up position in the lower tear left of stage where we had a fantastic view of everything. Starsailer and the Killers were ok but we were there to see U2.
Unos, dos, tres, catorce! The sound was incredible what a venue, what a set up, what a band. From start to finish the place rocked a truly outstanding emotional dazzling experience that brought tears of joy to my eyes. Elevation, Beautiful Day, Where the Streets Have No Name, Zoo Station and Vertigo for me quite simply out of this world. Bono always says “thanks for giving us a great life” But you know what, experiencing something like that is what life is all about. Got home at 04:00 what a beautiful day we didn’t let it get away!!!
