This was my 2nd show on the elevation tour (first being in San Jose 1st night). This was a much better show than the previous show I attended. One thing I picked up on was the that the group sounded tighter musically than the earlier show.
I got to go into the Heart for the show. For anyone who has floor seats... get to the venue earlier and go into the Heart. It is the 1 must thing to do if you are true die hard fan on this tour. Beg, Borrow, Steal, whatever... just get inside that Heart for 1 show. Being in the Heart was like being a small club watching the biggest and best band in the world. A true, one of a kind experience..
A couple of other cool tidbits was that a small group of us (while waiting for our Heart wristbands, yes there is a seperate wristband to allow you access to the Heart) got to meet and talk with Paul McGinnis (U2's manager). What followed was very cool. He asked us a number of questions about how the whole ticketmaster and propaganda ticket ordering had worked out. He seemed geniunly interested in our feedback and took it all in. The really cool part of it all was that he allowed us to ask him questions and he was straight forward in his answers. Below was a some of the questions that were asked
Q:While there be a 2nd show at Slane in August.
A:Yes, but it isn't finalized yet. There are a few things that need to be taken care (licenses secured, etc.) but it should all go through.
Q:Will U2 be visting South America this tour (Elevation)?
A:Mr. McGinnis kind smiled at this question, and then asked "what city are you talking about? Rio?"
Q: No, I was thinking somewhere in Peru?
A:Mr. McGinnis laughed some and said "I don't think we will ever end up there... sorry about that..." (so, it sounds like they are going to South America, but nothing final yet).
Q:Will U2 be playing some outdoor stadiums on this tour, after the Europe leg?
A:"No, no stadiums on this tour". This was a pretty firm answer as he gave all night
He answered a few more questions here and there about Bono's upcoming birthday and if the group had some surprises instore and such... all in all... he was very gracious with us and signed some tickets for a few of us.
See you all in Indy on Bono's birthday!
