I went to both the Monday and Tuesday night shows, and found both to be amazing experiences. Monday night was my first U2 concert and was spent in section 205, where I had a surprisingly good view of everything, though I felt disconnected. This could be because all that was left in my row were my brother and I, as everyone else had either never showed up, or had been offered an upgrade to section 113. We didn't take it though as I didn't want to give up my unobstructed view of Larry.
Tuesday night was spent in the front row outside the ellipse, just to the left of the tip, where Edge's mic stand had been the night before. Excellent view. The set list was amazing. THe only two things that could have made the show better was playing Fast Cars and The Edge spending more time out on the ellipse.
I cannot begin to describe how much this event moved me. The only way I believe is to say that it felt incredibly odd - like something was missing - to not be at a U2 show tonight.
Bono's dedication to Rosa Parks at the beginning of One were heartfelt and moving, and I couldn't have asked for a better eulogy of Rosa than the one I got last night.
