Yes, U2 treated Calgary with PRIDE tonight!!!!!1 It was truly one of the greatest moments I have ever witnessed at a concert, the crowd went absolutely insane because it was so unexpected. A U2 concert just isn't a U2 concert without that song The second whow was probably a little bit better than the first, besides the adition of Pride on the setlist for the first time on the tour, U2 belted out an amazing Even Better Than the Real Thing, and All I want Was You, which were both huge crowd pleasers. Last night I sat inside the heart, and tonight I moved outside to the tip of the heart, I can't decide which was better. A couple of amazing moments were when Bono danced with one of Edge's daughters, most of whom were in attendence with some of Bono's kids at the inside of the tip of the heart. Bono also danced with his wife Ali during With or Without You, that was a special moment. Bono was a little more interactive with tonight's crowd, waving a fan's white flag during Sunday Bloody Sunday, taking a guys soccer jersey which had "BONO #13" on the back. He even came into the crowd during one of the songs and played "rock, paper, scissors" with an audience meber who was standing right beside me. If you want some really close ecounters with Bono specifically, the tip of the heart was the best, as he jumped into the crowd several times during the show. It just makes the concert that much better when you get to lock eyes with Bono from 4 feet away! It was an absolutely magical night, and one that will never be forgotten.
For fans who have seen previous U2 tours, magnify the greatness of that experience by 1000 times and you've got the experience of the Elevation Tour!
Now it is off to Vancouver, to see if they can top themselves again, it will be very, very hard...
