First, I have to say that U2 fans are the coolest. I met some nice people in the bar across the street before the show last night. So, it was great to see U2 again. It was 4 years 1 day since I had seen them last down at Giant's Statium in 1997.The show was really cool. I saw a lot more this time , and they made good use of the heart. Bono did a few running laps around it, and really interacted with the crowd with it. As you know they came out and opened with Elevation, and then into Beautiful Day. They played about 7 songs from the new CD. Evelvation, Beautiful Day, Kite, Stuck in the Moment, New York, "Can't get out of it", and Walk On. They did a blazing number with "Mysterious Ways". They had bright colored screens pop up in the background with like silouelets of girls dancing. It was very flashy with the lights rolling around the crowd. They did "Last Night on Earth from POP"Stay so close, far away" from "Zooropa" Of course they did "One", and then they did the usual classics like "Where the Streets have No Name","Sunday Bloody Sunday", and a roaring version of Bullet in the Blue Sky, where they had a gun video going on while they were playing that. They also played other crowd pleasure such as Desire, Surrender and I will Follow. Desire was cool, because they all came out to the botton of the heart and played. Larry just played on 1 drum, and it looked like Adam did not like being out there on the hearts runway. So, Bono did his usual stuff and moves on stage as he walked around that heart. He may of been ill, but that did not stop him. He shined a spot light into the crowd to each section, during Bullet in the Blue Sky, you know, "Looking for those fighter planes" part of the song. So, it was cool. They played 2 hours, and ended at 11pm. Thanks Bono and company, we hope to see you again soon in ALBANY.
