U2 Elevated Pepsi Arena, but not to the heights it has other venues. The minute the show began, you knew Bono wasn't himself. That was fully realized whenever he spoke to the crowd (he didn't even make sense during the Jubilee speech during Pride) and when he had trouble with some of the lyrics. He was struggling quite a bit! The other bandmembers and the crowd, as Bono graciously admitted, lifted him up. The show ended quite strong beginning with Bad. Bono seemed to muster what energy he had to sing those last eight songs and run around the heart. A nice highlight after One was Bono singing the first verse of Unchained Melody, which he's always done so beautifully in the past. All in all, though, it was the worst U2 concert I've attended and this was the 13th show I've seen since indoor Zoo TV in '92. The least amount of songs they've played, Bono being out of it, and lastly a lethargic Albany crowd were responsible for that. The two shows in Florida and the Lexington show were Cloud 9 Elevation (it didn't hurt they played New Year's Day all 3 shows). The Elevation level here reached about as high as an Albany "skyscraper!"
