I had been anticipating albany for months since I lined up back in january to get tickets. myself and one other diehard showed up at the war memorial in syracuse early on a cold january morning to secure seats. this after the disappointment of not getting tickets for either of the toronto shows. Through a stroke of good luck, I was able to get a free ticket to the first night in Montreal. And was sort of disappointed - the seats were behind the stage, and something about the energy just felt off. Not so in Albany - there was an electric charge in the air even outside the Pepsi. And that charge only grew and then completely exploded when the boys took the stage!
Yes, Bono was under the weather, but it somehow made him try even harder. He still could wail out the high notes - Stay was raggedly beautiful! He even took the upper note in Unchained Melody!! The whole night was so warming, so filled with love. During One, the emotion that had been building all night just began to stream down my face as tears.
Out of the 4 U2 shows I have seen, this one has definitely been the best! I don't know what to expect in Philly - all I know is that I am so glad I get to see them again
who's to say where the wind will take you . . . .
