You people are so right about post-concert depression. Denver was so much fun, i was lucky enough to see both shows. The first one was great but the second one was magic. I sat behind the stage slightly on Edge's side both nights. I could see everything from the band's point of view, it was cool. The crowd, especially in the Bomb Shelter, was so much more energetic the second night. The band's interaction with the crowd amazed me. On Wednesday night, most people probably did not see it but there was a guy in the front row with a small sign that said, "PLEASE SING SHE'S A MYSTERY FOR MY SISTER, IT'S HER BIRTHDAY". Bono is so awesome to actually do it!
The Declaration of Human Rights and talking about the crisis in Africa was brilliant. My sister(who was at the concert with me) had just hours before come from working at the African Leadership confrerence in Aspen. She met all kinds of aid workers, government officials, even former political prisioners from South Africa. The flags they show at the concert before "One" are all flags of countries in Africa. My sister told me the overwhelming theme of talking with these people is HOPE. Americans look at some of the problems in Africa as hopeless but the people woking in Africa tell her they find a level of happinesss and hopefulness in Africans that they have never seen anywhere else but they desperatly need the help of people who care. Bono, you have at least 2 audience members that are going to do something for this cause. Thank You!
