Well, what can I say? I was exhausted after the show. I was on the floor, and people were fairly decent down there. But, I am going to gripe a bit.

The sound mix was lousy. I heard the band just fine. Bono I could only hear on songs people didn't quite know yet ("Original of the Species" is an example). Other than that, all I could hear was the drunk people around me singing off key. And I'm tall enough to see the stage and band. It was really disappointing.

I've been going to shows since 1983 and haven't missed a tour, so I know what I'm talking about. U2 still connects with the crowd, and it's still a great show...it's just that sometimes it feels like it's the big event you have to be at. It also seems like the band used to be a little looser in terms of Bono talking during a song, but perhaps that's my memory.

The set list was cool. It was great to hear "I Will Follow," although I wanted "Gloria" in there, too. The final encore was okay for me. I'm not a big fan of "Bad." I guess when you hear drunk women screaming "Whoo-hoo...whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo" ahead of Bono, and off key it's not helping. I knew that "All Because of You," "Yahweh" and "40" wouldn't be the last songs, but I was hoping they would.

They were all smiling and having fun. The dancer during "Mysterious Ways" was quite good and fun. Hey, I'm a white Irish guy, too...so I know about not being able to dance!

Next time, I'll save a lot more and get a seat. At least I'll be able to hear the mix better.

Band performance 8.5 of 10
My enjoyment 5.5 of 10
