Well after looking at photo's and reading reviews Popmart finally arrived to us in Brisbane. After having to sit through a crap support band "Sidewinder" it was great to see them come out.
After hearing so many things about the show there were no big surprises however it was cool to hear the sound live. The crowd responded really well to "Mofo" and kept it the hype going through "I will Follow". Bono poked fun during "Even Better" about how he and the rest of the band were refused entry into a nightclub the night before because he had sandals on. This had the roaring with laughter as it been in all the papers over here.
The concert highlights for me were "Still haven't found", "Sunday bloody sunday", and "Streets."
Two lows though. They did not play "All I want is you," a song I had been looking forward to for ages and also "Pride" was a big disappointment as the Edge's guitar was out of tune and really sounded terribly. He looked really unsettled during this song and finally got a different guitar after the song finished with a look of "I am really pissed off" at the guy who took the instrument.
In all a concert which was as good as Zoo TV and confirmed their status of best live band.
Ps: It was also good to see Adam move about a bit and look like he enjoyed unlike Zoo where he looked bored and annoyed that he was there.
