Come on U2 fans lets tell the world how good that was! My very patient wife and I got to the stadium at eight in the morning to be about the 100-150th in line. Nice and overcast cool, i could not sit down as was pumped and had only been sleeping about four hours a night for the past week. Ran into a few famialar faces and met some very nice people around us in the line. Thanks to the stadium for broadcasting the Melbourne Cup horse race ( our Kentucky Deby), but after that the weather got nasty. The clouds disappeared and the temperature seemed to double, sitting in the full sun, NO SHADE was hard going.
We finnaly got into the stadium about half five and we made our way to the end of the cat walk on adam's side. My wife likes Larry and the least I could do was get her close and personal. Stood next to someone I meet in New York in 2001...such a small world.
Kayne West played for about 45 minutes, it was a good show he really got into it and the music sounded good.
The boys were due to come on at eight but had to allow for fans to get in. So at half eight it all began, after screaming blinding light vertigo and elevation my voice was gone now i know how Bono feels! End of the World was good but maybe could have been subsututed by All because of you. Sometimes was beautiful to hear and was topped only by having Bono sing Miss Sarejavo right in front of us. When he sang the pavorotti part that sent shivers down your spine.
I LOVE mysterious ways so when the did Zoo Station The Fly and was jumping. I have not seen them do mysterious since 1998, not in New York in October 2001 or 2005 was it played. If the band is reading this I will be in Sydney for your third show. HINT HINT HINT HINT!!!!!!
Kite was so good I adore that song and like the new way it was played. And Saints rocked the house, it was a beautiful night. I would rank it number two of seeing them. But Bono I love ya but just a small favour.........remmeber the words!
