I remember this show like it was yesterday! The moment when the Edge threw down his guitar was especially dramatic. Bono spoke into the mic at that point, saying, essentially, that they would not continue to play if their fans were treated this way, (I believe they were upset that the security there were roughing up their over-enthusiastic fans in the front row). Once they started playing again, though, the band was on fire! And yes, as in many other shows, the crowd did sing 40 long into the night afterwards. It felt as if the band had reached the pinnacle of success, (which we now know was yet to come in the years ahead!).

Some other side-notes:

--Right before the show started, someone opened an emergency exit and let in about 10 of their friends, who quickly dispersed into the crowd, (not sure how or if they were able to lose themselves in the crowd, as this wasn't a general admission show, and I don't recall any empty seats being available!)

--This was the night of the Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Center in NYC, so, right outside the door, the city was packed with masses of people there for the event, which made getting to the show quite a challenge!
