Let me start by saying how amazing Black Eyed Peas were. I like them, don't love them but what a treat to have them as an opening act. If there was a roof, they would have torn it off. They rocked. I can't remember the last time any opening act packed the house and the Bowl is a huge house to pack. Even Pearl Jam, who opened U2's last show on the last tour in Hawaii didn't pack the house the way BEP did and to top if off, they bring on Slash and do Sweet Child O' Mine! Fergie was awesome, Axl who?
As expected, U2 was fantastic. The stage is just mind-blowing. Seen pictures/video of it all over the place but when you walk through the tunnel and see it in person for the first time, it just blows you away. Lighting was amazing, sound very good. No other band can generate that much electricity from an audience. Some songs need to be laid to rest but when you have a catalog to choose from such as U2 does, you can never please everyone. I was happy with the song selection.
Also, took my brother for his first time to see U2. Was very special as he is an enormous Michael Jackson fan - he had tickets for England and was very sad. I've always wanted him to see U2 so he could see the fascination, he wasn't let down. Worked out as my wife is about to give birth and couldn't go. We did decide that if she gave birth on the day of the show, we would have named our son Bono!
