Okay, I'll try this again...
As everyone else has said, it was an awesome show!! The band was in rare form. I had a great time despite the fact that I was in the nosebleed section (In Tacoma I was right near the stage!)
I loved the pared down stage set, the lights the opaque banners, and of course, the heart!
Their old songs sounded fresh and contemporary; the audience seemd to get really pumped up during them. There was so much energy in that arena!
They have some songs that can really strike a chord in you; In particular, tears welled up in my eyes during "Pride". When Bono got to "A shot rang in the Memphis sky..." I thought I was going to ball like a baby! Wow, powerful stuff there!
I loved it when Bono asked if anyone had found a brown leather bag, referring to the one that was stolen here in Portland 20 years ago, this week!
I couldn't believe it when he jumped into the audience near the end of "the Fly", and came out with a child on his back!! Where did he end up going? And where did that kid come from?! Bono sure keeps the security people on their toes! Ha ha!
Again, this was one awesome show, and I was glad I got to experience it my hometown. I just hope that the band was as happy to be in Portland, as we were to have them here.
