Just took in the 4th show of the tour in Portland. The band seemed a bit tired and anxious to get the show over and return home for the holidays. In any event, they gave it their all. I was a bit disappointed with the set list that has steered back to the liking of IWF and nothing until SBS on the War album. Maybe I'm dating myself a bit with the likings of the great songs from the early 80's. In comparison, Seattle, Philly, and Vegas had some really great classics: Electric Co., Ocean, Cat and Into the Heart.
On another note, I'm getting tired of Bono's political concert stage platform. He is a noble man with an incredible heart, but if I want to talk politics, I will renew my subscription to Newsweek or Time.
All in all, a six on a scale of 10 for U2 and definitely not the best show that I have seen on this tour. As concerts go, they are still the greatest show on earth!!! I look forward to the next time they are in town.
Thanks guys for all of the great years and happy holidays.
