Just saw the San Diego show last night.
I have to believe I was watching the last of the great rock'N roll bands as Bono and the boys shed all of the props and toys and let fly with nothing but the power of their music.
An awesome experience.
The smaller venue (12,000+) allowed for tremendous fan feedback and it was clear the band loved every second of the show as much as the fans did. Even though the accustics in the Sports Arena generally sucked, the artistic power of the music more than made up for it. The pared-down staging allowed the viewer to appreciate the artistic simplicity of U2's lyrics and songs and only strenghtened the bond between audience and band. One of the best musical experiences I have ever had.
These guys are true Artists that take pride in their craft and have a sense of respect for their audience that shines through their performance. This tour is NOT to be missed.
