Aight, this was my fourth u2 show and wasn't the least bit let down. It was great to see them in my hometown of San Diego and in such of a small(er) crowd in such close quarters. I personally loved all the high-tech visual extravagence of ZooTv and Popmart, but the staging is still top notch and really suits the energy of this show and the setlist. I don't know if it was just being so close to them without so many distractions this time, but they really sounded intense and seemed like they had something to prove. I did think that the sound was a bit off, maybe just the bad acoustics of the crusty oldass Sports Arena, but often it sounded as if their mixing board was off or something, a lot of distortion and Bono's voice was muffled a good bit. But, not a problem if you know all the words and I was really impressed with how a crowd of only about 15,000 could get so vocal. And in a unique way, the intense volume and distortion added a pretty cool effect to the songs, like listening to their albums 6inches away from some big ass speakers with the bass up. Sorry to rant, this is the 1st post I've made about the lads, Jesus they're the best. And I get to do it again next week in Anaheim(just hope they can work on the sound a bit)!!!!!!
And on the off chance one of you guys see this post, I really would love to see the following performed at the 3rd show in Anaheim:
Stay
WILD HONEY!!!!
Last Night on Earth
ELECTRIC CO.
...and I'm running outta change
enjoy the shows ya'll!
