My sisters, their boyfriends and I travelled from near Geneva to see U2 in Milano since they weren't playing that leg in Switzerland. We were way up high in the nosebleeds, but wow, what an experience! It was my 8th time seeing them, so the mainstreem songs are not as magical as they used to be for me, but U2 are still my favorite band so of course I'm going to have fun!
What really blew me away this time was the crowd -but that's why we chose to go to Milano and not Paris, same distance from Geneva- and the light show. Wow.... how they turned an 80,000 stadium into a small intimate experience with EVERYONE singing so loud that even Bono was blown away that he stopped singing, is just an awesome experience! And it is true when they say that the Italian crowd is the loudest... just fantastic! Grazie tutti!
I liked that they did a lot of new songs from NLOTH but was disappointed with MOMENT OF SURRENDER, I LOVE the song, but live it didn't work. Happily surprised with the Crazy remix though! And The way the whole stadium went dark with an only discoball lighting up the place during WITH OR WITHOUT YOU.... breath taking! That took me back to my high school dances *sigh* : )
The other reason we chose Milano was because Snow Patrol were playing the opening... they were great, it's just too bad the Italian crowd didn't know who the heck they were. But we made it fun singing and dancing all we could! It was a great night, great to see the 360 tour, 4th show in. Now I'm looking forward to see how they change things in Zurich on Sept 11th 2010! : )
