Anyone who bore witness to last night's show can attest to why so many people are so devoted to this band. Unlike the earlier spring shows I had seen (NYC, Chicago Saturday), this was a profoundly moving experience. Bono's voice never sounded better, the group allowed playful and compelling moments to evolve instead of trying to force them, and the crowd was a definite stimulus as even Bono seemed moved by the adulation. Highlights included an amazing version of "Until the End of the World", during which Bono ran two laps at break neck speed around the ellipse; the crowd erupting during "Miss Sarajevo" when Bono hit the Pavarotti parts, and an unbelievably inspired "Love and Peace"...o.k, "Gloria" was a knockout. How wonderful to see that 10 months into the tour U2 has reinvented the show. Last night can carry me through the next 5 if not 10 years!!!
