Flew in from Dallas for this show, my 2nd on this tour. Bono and the boys were extremely tight tonight, they were definately not mailing it in at the end of the tour. They were tighter than I ever remember.
I had an extremely unusual experience. I have been to 19 U2 shows and have never experienced even an ill word before.......I was kicked out of the Savvis Center by security!!!!
I was on the floor, on the Edge's side up against the rail backing up to the walkway to the entrance to the elipse.
I had a camera and was snapping photos like the other 20000 people in attendance. This security guy forcefully said "put the camera away or I will kick you out" I tried to explain that U2 welcome pics, it's part of the culture. This guy became abusive, so to avoid conflict I put it away.
As the encore started, and the Edge played "Until the end...." right in frront of me I had to get shots (there were people all around me with camera's). This JERK was waiting for me and when I started snapping some shots, he baxsically grabbed me and was going to force me to stop..My temper flared and I told him to look around!!!! and then to F-off....needless to say I was escorted out and missed the rest of the encore..
I have been sad evey since, feeling I was robbed of precious live moments with the band. Not to mention, getting into a conflict at the show goes against everything the music itself stands for..
Did anyone else have a similar experience?
