This was my 3rd and final (boo hoo) time to see U2 on the Elevation Tour. I was fully rested and dry since I didn't have to wait outside for a place in the heart (like I did in October)...I sat in section 106, with a great view! I have to give it to the fans who did, yet still managed to go crazy during the show!
I thought this show seemed more relaxed then the show I saw in Chicago in October. It's as if the guys are allowing themselves to have fun and not worry about everything that has happend since September 11th.
I was expecting to hear Stay when Bono and Edge met at the tip of the heart- yeat I heard an acoustic version of Please. Very haunting to hear it this way.
While I was waiting to get in, I asked I guy next to me if he was expecting any surprises... That's what I've wanted on this tour was a surprise... and I got a few! I was thrilled to hear Angel of Harlem, Wild Horses and 3 Little Birds at the end of Bad. The most spontaneous moment was when The Edge's twin got on stage to play Knockin' on Heaven's door. Bono told the guy that he had on the right colors (green and orange) and the right shoes. He had a #40 on his shirt and Bono mentioned that. Bono and The Edge had a lot of fun with this- after while Bono said "We have a show to do now, so Fuck off!" Then he hugged the guy and sent him back to his seat. It was great! The St. Louis crowd was really into the show and it made it a great night. Bono's voice was in top form and he hit all of his high notes. It struck me as sad as they left the stage for the last time and Bono said "Don't forget about us now". How can we?
BTW- Who was on Adam's shirt? I could quite make it out!
