It was a cold day for an outdoor concert. It had snowed (lightly) in the higher elevations south of Rochester the night before. We HAD been camping.
Cold and drizzly too by showtime. I found Little Steven's set to be a bit of a disappointment. Los Lobos were better. It was dark by the time U2 came on. There were five us huddled on the infield wrapped in wool blanket.
Bono's arm was in a sling which he took off to try "People Get Ready". He had the kid come up and play guitar w/ the band, as was seemingly trademark on that tour. The show was very good, though the tape doesn't accurately reflect it.
They had a two story construct for main mix boards, spotlights and 4 professional video cameras (but jumbotron). Somewhere this is all on video I think don't ask who has it, I do not know, though I tried to find out.
Was the weather cold and miserable? Yes.
If I had to do it all over again, would I?
Without a momnent's hesitation.
