That concert which I went with three of my pals from London - thanks and waves to Mat, Elaine and Dean! We all hung out with the fans (including Interferencers - Rambling Rose for one I remember) that came from all over the world to see this gig! Needless to say, of all the U2 concerts I have attended (18 in all), this gig came out as one of the best I have seen along with the Edinburgh show in 1987. The atmosphere that day in Slane Castle was amazing though slightly tinged with the sadness for Bono after his father's funeral the previous day so it spoke volumes for Bono's courage that he still went for it. Hats off to him with respect. As for the gig, I cant say too much here but I loved the intro of Elevation, wonderful UTEOW, great SBS and Im sure we were all moved by the sight of photos of Bob Hewson during One. (Well as a footnote, I must say though I did attend the gig, I was quite surprised to see an omission of the opening acts before U2 appeared which had included Red Hot Chili Peppers and Coldplay. Some kind of explanation would be good!)
