The show was a big dissapointment. I am from Dublin originally now living in the US. I saw the band 7 times on the first leg of the tour including the first and last nights in the meadowlands respectively. So I am a huge fan.
I travelled back to see them in Salne as I was at the first slane 20 years ago, I was 13!. The day was more of a spectacle as opposed to a concert. There were too many folks there. I am 6 ft and could barely see anything. There were way too many people who were bombed after partying all day.
There was no momentum to the show. The crowd were very subdued understandingly after being on their feet for 10 hours. I am glad I was there but it really was not worth the effort.
This is only my opinion (actually the opinion of all five of us at the show) so no need for anyone to launch into scathing attacks.
If this was the only show on the tour you got to see I could imagine that it was perceived as amazing but the reality is their earlier indoor shows were far far better.
