I can't believe that some of your reviews criticised U2 at Slane. The venue is the best in the world and particularly poignant for the band with their history and at this point in their career. I honestly don't understand how comments were made about a lacklustre crowd. The crowd sang every word throughout and the ground shook with the bouncing and dancing. The support acts included last year's best band Coldplay and the world's biggest band(after U2 of course) in the Chilis. The crowd sustained a fantastic atmosphere for the duration of the day and the show had an unrivalled intimacy and bond with fans for such a huge venue. "A Sort of Homecoming" was a welcome inclusion, specially reserved for this day, as it has not been given a live outing since '87 and "Dancing in the Moonlight" was a touching tribute to the genius behind Ireland's greatest rock 'n' roll band. The emotion was incredibly high as the whole gig became somewhat of a commemoration to Bob Hewson but this was understood by the whole audience and only heightened the bond with Bono and the appreciation of him keeping the date. The concert was perfect, so if you can find any fault it is down to your own dullness and sceptical nature because the crowd was certainly enthusiastic where I was standing and U2 played the best date of their careers and provided that they are the finest band of our time.
