Being my fourth concert on the Elevation tour I approached Slane with a bit of fear.
However it was a success.
The support bands were very energetic and got the crowd going early.
The decision to show the match was a masterstroke but maybe it shortened U2's set.
The show was the best I have heard soundwise. The band seemed extremely relaxed ,almost as if on autopilot.Bono's voice was the best I have heard in a while.
The crowd were mostly well behaved except for the 100's of people up on shoulders who spoilt many small peoples views.Luckily I am tall !
I was slightly disappointed that U2 only played for 110 minutes especially as it was the last concert of the european tour.
This was due to the fact that they had to be off stage by 10.30 because of the ridiculous planning permission.
Saying this though the show was tight and sped up which was good as no time was wasted.
Pity they didnt play the 'Unforgetable Fire' live.
All in all though I enjoyed it immensely, another half an hour would have been nice though.
The first night of any venue seems to be the better night as the set is 20 mins longer and Bono talks alot more.
Now to plan for America.
