It breaks my heart to say it, but for a U2 show, this was not good.
There were moments of course. "Gone" kicked. And the answering Bono/Edge vocals on "Last Night on Earth" were really cool. "With or Without You" struck a chord.
But alot of the songs did nothing more than inspire general indifference. Almost everybody in the stands sat through the entire show. There were weird noises that sounded like technical difficulties throughout. "Miami" was truly terrible, seeing Bono waving around that stars and stripe umbrella... my friend commented, "you're watching a man lose his mind on stage", and it was hard to argue with him.
Some people seemed to be leaving during the encore, maybe going to the bathroom. The way "Discoteqche" and "Velvet Dress Sounded", it was hard to blame them...
