Wonderful evening in Chicago. When all of the necessary elements of a great stadium show come together (perfect weather, great seats, great sound, vocal crowd), it makes for an incredible evening. Typically, I am a bigger fan of arena shows but when everything comes together outdoors as it did for this show, it's really special.
Something really cool about seeing the opening show of a leg. I did like the fact that leg 2 was kicked off in the States as opposed to leg 1 for a change. Having seen some early shows in first legs from tours past, the shows get better the more they have under their belt---especially on this scale!
Show wise, I thought the new songs translated great live and playing so many of them each tour is what keeps U2 relevant. I feel for folks underneath an overhang at Soldier Field. I was lucky---12th row lower gave me a perfect view but folks a few rows back were not so fortunate.
3 more shows this leg for me (NY 1, Dallas, Vegas). Welcome back to the US, boys!
