Hi
The U2 concert at pinkpopfestival in Geleen was my first popfestival (I was 13 then) and they completely stole my heart. They were second band on stage because they were not known so well then in Holland. The gig was stunning, I remember Bono being so surprised about the reaction of the public. It was early in the midday when they played, every-one in the crowd was laying down on the field and looked sleepy at first, but this changed radically after a few U2 songs. Bono asked if we could understand him (yes we can understand english in Holland thanks). When the set was done, the crowd wanted more. Since they had no more new songs left, they started to play the same songs again. It was amazing! Every band after this gig, had a very difficult task!
