My wife and I are long time listeners, but last night was our first U2 show. As unimpressed as we were with our fellow concert goers, we have nothing but blown away by the band.
Since we love "Atomic Bomb", we were glad to hear several cuts from the CD in between the classics, which were spine chilling.
We were in the 3rd level but in the first row, in the middle of the arena. There are better seats in the house, but the view was excellent nonetheless. The scene of all of those cell phones glowing was incredible!!
As I told my wife, this was not just a concert, but a major event, probably the biggest show of the year in town. Our only disappointment was with the majority of fans who couldn't get off their asses to dance, sing, and scream. We knew that there had been 3 encores in Miami the night before, but it was obvious this crowd wasn't going to earn that same feat. Too bad, the boys deserved better.
Hopefully they give Tampa another shot.
