Just back from the Paris 12th show which was my first show of this tour - and 15th U2 show.
Despite having seen the video footage of previous shows this tour, seeing the show live is an experience not to be missed. Excellent sound quality (despite the Stade de France being next to the main Parisien ring road), superb video screen (probably the best I have seen on any tour U2 or not).
The band were generally tight, and Bono's vocals strong. This might have had something to do with the presence of a certain Johnny Halliday (a very famous french old rocker, to whom Bono dedicated "Mysterious Ways" to). Bono even joked that U2 were only renting the place from Halliday temporarily as this is his "home" as he put it.
Highlights for me were Get On Your Boots (which sounded far better live than the CD), and beautiful acoustic version of "Stuck In A Moment" with a great second voice from Edge, and a very emotional vocal from Bono for Moment of Surrender.
I must also add that the French crowd particated in creating a very good atmosphere, something which the band acknowledged and paid back in kind.
