Just got home to Liverpool after saturdays gig in rome.
Rome was beautiful, but the most beautiful area of rome was the stadio di olympico on saturday night.
What a show, I went to manchester 14th June which was fantastic, but Rome was both visually and musically on another level.
Organisation was poor at the stadium, we arrived at 1pm and queued until the gates opened at 4.30pm. Tip for the pit, don't give up, they will say it's full but will let others in(we got in the staqdium at 5pm, and gave up at 5.30pm(due to the crush to get in the stadium and the pit)but saw some people we spoke to in the queue for the pit had managed to get in.
Feeder were actually excellent, Ash sucked. Feeder are an underated band.
Then the show, what imporessed me most was the stadium, the stands Edge side(unreserved)were full within an hour of the gates opening, the atmosphere was amazing, and thynk you to the impromptu firemen for hosing the crowd down. There were at least 80000 people at the show, and the noise was awesome.
The show was musically magnificent, Bono's voice in my opinion was excellent, the Edge was awesome - highlights - the crows singing every sone virtually word for word, my expectations were exceeded, the atmosphere was electric.
The light show was easily the best I have ever seen, as the entire concert was dark, the light show was simply stunning.
Then the songs - highlights - Still Haven't found what I'm looking for, Miss Sarajevo(simply stunning), Pride, Love and Peace, and the HTDAAB trilogy city of blinding lights, miracle drug and sometimes.
I thought that One was poor in manchester, but the rewrote the form book and one was as powerful as ever.
Form is temporary, class is permenant.
Rome - you have fantastic people, a fantastic city, and a beautiful voice, an amazing experience and an amazing show..thank you.
