Wow!! How else can I describe last night's final show at the Staples center. After an awesome performance on Tuesday night, Bono and the boys simply out did thenselves. Their energy level was incredible. They no doubt saved the best for last- the setlist that is!! I will Follow, New Year's day and All I Want is You were replaced by Mysterious Ways, which was a nice surprise and definitely a crowd favorite, Out of Control (Bono introduced the boys during the song), U2's first single dating back to 1980, which sounded amazing live, with Larry's drums and the Edge's guitar riffs belting out the notes, and finally, Bad, which is one of my all time favorite U2 songs and a crowd pleaser in itself.
The rest of the setlist was ptetty much the same. During Wild Honey (acoustic), Bono brought a young girl on stage at the tip of the heart. She was serrenaded by Bono and the Edge. The girl was in total shock.
It was another great show by an amazing band. Each performance has its own niche. There is no doubt that U2 is the greatest band in the world. They have proven that with All That You Can't Leave Behind and probably their most successful tour ever.
I hope there is a 5th leg of the tour and the boys return to LA sometime next year, where it seems Bono has made it his "second home".
Hat's off to U2 for making the fans come back for more!!!
