After reading others' reviews of night three in L.A., I was astonished at how similar my feelings were to other fans'.
By far their best Staples show...and for no discernable reason. In all honesty, nights one and two were fine, as well.
But something was in the air. I had almost tired of No Doubt's act after the first two shows, yet even they were really strong.
I can't flood you with details. Didn't take notes, but I found myself closing my eyes to simply LISTEN at times. And I had a pretty good view! Edge was astonishing.
There was a sort of liquid quality to the show...it flowed seamlessly. I never tire of the ironies - Bono with the sign of the cross, Edge with Virgin Mary statue and the people around me slamming $8 beers.
It was amazing good clean fun, after all is said and done. This is why I'll be in Phoenix on Friday.
And as I finish this, L.A.'s KLOS FM has just begun playing Angel of Harlem. These are indeed the good old days.
