We saw them in Sun Devil Stadium -- it was a sweltering 98 degrees! We got there early and heard the band warming up which sounded fantastic! We got excited just listening to them warm up. Then as we were waiting at one of the gates we saw a white van parked and suddenly there was a rush of people to the fence as the Edge and Bono walked to the van. They signed some posters and got into the van.
After Rage Against the Machine played there was a DJ playing some music in the interlude. By 9:30 that music stopped and the lights went down. Then "Pop Music" began the stage lit up and U2 entered with an entourage of security. Bono was dressed in a silver boxer's robe and did some "air boxing" on the stage. The audience was on it's feet screaming at this point. The entire concert was a great experience and I want to try to see them again because I was so dazed by it and so overwhelmed that I missed things I would have liked to have seen. The lemon mirror ball was fantastic, the whole night was something I'll never forget. I'm still recovering from it and am exhausted. U2 is by far the all time greatest rock band.
