I have seen U2 more than 1 dozen times since 1989.
Grew up with the music and for the most part always loved the live shows even when some of the albums were a bit so so.
As for last nights show..... well there were highlights and some not so good parts.
Firstly the crowd. I thought they were very pumped up. I saw the melbourne show and this crowd was a lot better.
It is always great to hear the classic songs live, no one can do them better.
To the negatives, The sound was very hit and miss and I must say that was the case also in melbourne.
There was also one song which it almost seemed like the band couldn't keep up with each other in.
The hit songs are still great, the activism speeches from bono while noble now seemed out dated and almost awkward. A lot of the crowd tends to cringe during these speeches.
The stage etc is spectacular, however the shows these days are very choreographed and that's what I miss from the shows of years ago. The raw energy and passion in the shows. But I guess we are all getting older. Problem is for the first time I can say I can really u2 are also. Overall for a U2 show - 7/10
