As it was my first U2 gig,in 1982, (ticket costs 12.50 guilder !) we (U2 and I) were both young and I remember a friend had to drive me to Hattem (230 km)in my parents car as I had no drivers licence at that time...
The gig as something I would keep in my mind untill today.I never had seen a band like U2 in this punkrock and New wave time in the early 80's. For me and many others U2 was something complete new with an energy and emotion spreading out to the audience. They played as they were already rockstars, now I know they already were from that time on. Powerplay were special guests and Veronica TV recorded the gig for Veronica's Countdown.I remember Powerplay watched U2 play from the second floor near the stage. When U2 started to play the audience went wild, something they never stopped to do.........
