This was the first U2 concert I ever attended. I went with a few friends, and it's something I'll never forget. We knew we were going to hear some great music, but I guess I didn't know how memorable it would be. From the first momement the band came onstage, everyone was up and standing in their chairs. Who knew a crowd in Fort Worth would react this way to a band from Ireland? I remember one of my buddies looking over at me and saying "This is our Beatles".
This concert opened my eyes on the ways a band should play live. They not only entertained the crowd, but delivered a message. It was really the first time a band made me think of situations going on in the world, while at the same time entertaining me with unbelieveable music.
I've seen them several more times since, but that first concert will always be special.
