My fifth U2 show turned out to be the best one. I stood about 3 or 4 people behind the front of the ellipse, where Bono and Edge spent a fair amount of time (and Larry and Adam also made brief appearances). The energy of the crowd seemed to really move Bono, especially when they helped him get through what seemed to be a coughing/choking attack during Pride. He gave a shout out to John Kerry, who was in attendance, during Beautiful Day. He also talked a little with Tom Brady, who apparently was standing at the front of the ellipse, during the show and assured him that The Edge was in fact rooting for the Pats during the 2002 Super Bowl. The set list seemed short compared to previous shows - I was disappointed not to hear Bad, The Fly, Mysterious Ways - but they certainly made up for it with their energy, the crowd interaction, and their usual stage presence. Oh, and this is the second time I've seen them play Sunday, Love and Peace, and Bullet back to back, a combination that absolutely rocks.
