I saw U2 first play in Brisbane at the Boondall Entertainment Centre in 1989 on their Love Town tour when I was 17. At that point I was front row hard up against the barricade in front of Bono and Adam. I thought that was the most amazing gig I'd ever seen.
I must say that there's nothing like your first time but this was amazing. Some people only dream about being this close once, let alone twice (once at 17 and once 17 years later). I think the photos speak for themselves...
Well done Lez on the general admission tickets and Paul & Lyndal for making it there in time. Also well done to the orgainising committee for shutting off the front area once it's full. See you again in another 17 years at the front...
